How chip tuning works on a petrol Opel Vectra B
With a petrol engine the remap works through the ECU's ignition, fuelling and turbo boost tables. Re-calibrating them within safe limits releases power that is already there, rather than adding anything to the engine.

Among the 3 petrol Vectra B engines we have figures for, the 2.0 16v 136 ranks 3rd for power gain, 2 bhp below the Vectra B petrol average of 20 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 18 bhp and 30 Nm sits below that benchmark.
