How chip tuning works on a diesel Fiat Ulysse

Modern diesels are held back by conservative factory calibrations. A remap updates the fuel and boost maps stored in the ECU, which is why drivers notice stronger acceleration from low revs and less need to change down on hills or when loaded.

For reference, JTD and Multijet are the Fiat Group names for its common-rail diesel engines.

Ranked by power gain against the other diesel Ulysse engines (3 in total), the JTD 2.2 128 is 2nd, exactly the Ulysse diesel average.
